The Hartling Group

What’s the Vibe…

Amidst a turquoise sea, lies a chain of serene small islands called Turks and Caicos. At first glance, it might seem like you’re in the Maldives, but in reality, you’re thousands of miles away from the Indian Ocean. In the warm and inviting Caribbean Sea, 40 islands, each resembling scoops of ice cream with emerald centres gracefully blend into aqua lagoons. Here, life moves at a relaxed pace, and the rum flows freely. They have some of the best diving in the world with the third largest reef, with a vibrant coral brimming with marine life. This is the Turks and Caicos.

What’s the location …

A British Overseas Territory located in the North Atlantic, Turks and Caicos is composed of two island groups. There are eight major islands, of which six are inhabited. The Turks Islands are located on the eastern side of the archipelago and include Grand Turk (home of the capital Cockburn Town) and Salt City. Meanwhile, the Caicos Islands are comprised (from west to east) of West Caicos, Providenciales, North Caicos, East Caicos and South Caicos. Turks and Caicos is a family-friendly destination.

The backstory…

Turks and Caicos has a diverse cultural heritage, merged from the Lucayan people, Spanish settlers, and Bermudian salt collectors . Until the 19th century, sea salt was the major export. Turks and Caicos became a separate colony in 1848 and a Crown colony in 1962. After the Bahamas gained independence in 1973, the islands received their governor. Since 1976, the islands have had their governor, led by a Chief Minister. Independence moves in the 1980’s were stalled by an anti-independence party. The islands were designated British Overseas Territory in 2002, granting islanders full British citizenship. Sharlene Cartwright-Robinson was the first female Premier of Turks and Caicos, serving from 2016 to 2021.

Hotels…

The island of Providenciales has a plethora of luxury hotels throughout the island and all of the Turks & and Caicos islands. Grace Bay Beach has been voted the world’s best beach eight times running, while a short drive away in Long Bay you’ll find serene beaches with shallow waters which stretch out to sea providing a fabulous water playground. Here on Providenciales, Hartling Group has three fabulous hotels, ’ each catering to a unique segment of travellers.

The Shore Club….

The Shore Club, located in Long Bay Beach, is owned by the Hartling Group and was voted the most Instagrammable hotel in the world in 2021 and 2022. The resort was designed by RAD Architecture and guests can even arrive in style, with VIP airport transfer chauffeuring them to the resort. While staying at the property visitors can relax and unwind in the indulgent spa, in one of the four pools or one of the many on-site restaurants and bars or simply in their luxurious accommodation.

Pamper your family in an opulent suite (with optional butler service), or reserve a spacious junior suite for a romantic couples getaway. Dining…

The Shore Club resort boasts four restaurants and four bars. You can choose to have a cosy candlelit dinner at SUI-REN, the resort’s fine-dining Peruvian-Asian fusion restaurant or at Almond Tree for creative comfort food. Guests can enjoy a poolside meal in the Colonnade or at Sea Grapes, which also boasts an amazing swim-up bar. SUI-REN, led by Chef Martin Davis, serves the freshest and most unique sushi dishes on the island as well as Asian-inspired dishes such as Pho and Rendang and Peruvian-influenced dishes including our lamb chops and cauliflower. SUI-REN also offers an expansive craft cocktail menu to tempt your tastebuds.

Almond Tree is a unique experience in Turks & Caicos, both in cuisine and setting. Serving ‘creative comfort food with a Shore Club twist’ including wood-fired pizza, the restaurant is open for dinner under the twinkling lights of the courtyard almond tree. The cocktail menu is a masterpiece of bespoke cocktails featuring aged rums, whiskeys and rye drinks.

For something more casual for lunch and early dinner, there’s Colonnade and Sea Grapes, which both offer a range of tapas, burgers, and salads. There’s also breakfast each morning served at Almond Tree. Soak up the tropical vibes with a range of fruity cocktails to sip while lounging by the pool. Since the resort is close to Grace Bay, guests can enjoy a diverse array of dining options outside the hotel and try Parallel23 at The Palms or Hemingways at The Sands. Hartling Group offers a free shuttle between their three properties to make it easier for guests to try out the dining options at all of their resorts.
